What happens when shining a light reveals something we would rather not see? This week on Spill the P, Parsha Shoftim takes us into the uncomfortable but necessary territory of accountability. We explore why we make exceptions for people we love, how our emotions and experiences can influence our perception of truth, and why holding someone accountable can sometimes be an act of love rather than condemnation.

Shoftim also reminds us that we will not always have the answers—and perhaps we aren’t supposed to. We explore turning toward the Creator when something exceeds our understanding, allowing guidance to reach us through the channels placed along our path, and choosing peace before conflict without confusing peace with appeasement. Sometimes bringing light into the world means having the courage to acknowledge the shadows and participate in making something more whole.
